Real talk on the struggles couples face, for the marriage underneath.
Hosted by Dr. Regina Ransom · A Rooted Reserve podcast
Most couples don't fall apart over one big thing. They drift over a hundred small ones nobody talks about.
A Deeper Us is where we talk about those things out loud. The arguments that repeat, the distance that creeps in, the stress, the history and the bodies we bring into our marriages.
Each episode, Dr. Regina Ransom sits down with experts, pastors, clinicians and real couples to get honest about what's really going on underneath, and what it takes to find your way back to each other.
No judgment. No quick fixes. Just a deeper look, for a deeper us.
Your marriage doesn't live in a vacuum. Your stress, your health, your past and your faith all come into the room with you.
Why the argument keeps coming back, and what it's really about underneath.
Desire, closeness, touch, and what to do when you feel like roommates.
Hormones, perimenopause, stress and sleep, and how they show up as conflict.
When one partner's past is quietly running the relationship.
Praying together, believing differently, and building a shared foundation.
Spending, saving, secrets and who gets the final say.
Parenting as a team, stepfamilies, and staying a couple through it all.
Military couples, deployments, long distance and coming home different.
Dr. Regina Ransom has spent her career helping couples and families heal. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Clinical Supervision and a doctorate in Mind-Body Medicine, so she never looks at a marriage without also looking at the stress, health and history each partner carries into it.
She is also living it. Married for 33 years and a mother of six, she knows that lasting love isn't about never struggling. It's about learning to go deeper when it would be easier to pull away.
Dr. Ransom is the founder of Rooted Reserve, where she leads private couples intensives and small-group couples retreats.

Your question may be answered on a future episode. We never use names, and we change any details that could identify you.
We welcome therapists, clinicians, pastors, authors, experts and couples with a story worth telling. Tell us a little about yourself.
